About me

My Philosophy
My Story

I'm Emma from Romiley, Stockport, and I have unofficially been a Doula (birth supporter) for a few years, prior to completing the Nurturing Birth Doula Course (Stockport), in October 2012, I am  fully cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). I gained my certification in March 2014.

I live and work in Cheshire and Stockport. Since July 2012 I have worked within the NHS, volunteering in maternity at Stepping Hill Hospital Stockport and I am a trained breastfeeding supporter, working in Marple, Romiley, Woodley, Cheshire.

I am a mum of two, of obviously gorgeous children, Evie (hospital birth) and George (home birth). I have a very flexible job, a very accommodating husband and mother in law, so my Doula work fits in easily with my life. This enables me to give you the best support possible.

Having a baby is the most natural thing in the world. This is what we ultimately are built to do. I believe that ALL women have the power to have the birth experience that THEY want and I as a doula will support you with your choices and throughout the labour and birth - WHATEVER you choose.

I can provide non-judgemental and unbiased support for you and your partner. My role is NOT to replace medical staff or your partner but I will be the knowing glace and the reassuring smile that lets you know "hey, you're doing OK!"

I am not a doula that blogs, posts and read endless articles (although I keep up to speed) I am the Doula who will be your best friend while you're having your baby.  Keeping it simple.
